Caithness

This very unique prairie-style building was originally constructed in 1908 by architects Ware and Treganza. It’s located on the corner of B Street and 2nd Avenue is the heart of Salt Lake’s Avenue Historic District. The building was first known as the Riter Apartments, and later, Caithness Apartments. The Caithness name was preserved when the apartments were converted to condominiums in late 2005. In addition to its one-of-a-kind exterior, the interiors of the units also feature turn-of-the-century details like leaded glass windows, hardwood floors, high ceilings, and built-in bookcases. Each condo is heated through radiators by a central boiler system. All of the utilities are covered by the Caithness home owners association. HOA fees are around $150 per month. There is no on-site private parking, but plenty of free on-street parking is available on both B Street and 2nd Avenue. Pets are allowed.
